Guidelines

Rules and Regulations for First Frame 
DURATION
  • Short Fiction Films and Documentaries should not exceed the time limit of 30 minutes

  • Ad films should not exceed the time limit of 1 minute

  • Mobile Films should not exceed the time limit of 2 minutes.

There is NO ENTRY FEE for this competition.

 

DEADLINE

 

  • The closing date for receipt of entries is 15th March 2015.

  • Films produced between the period of 2013 to 2015 will be eligible for the competition.

  • The entries should reach the designated address on or before the specified date.

  • The onus of obtaining a proof-of-delivery for managing disputes rests with the entrant.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
  • Only students studying in media/mass communication/journalism/film-making course in any recognized Government/Ministry approved institute/university can participate in Undergraduate/Postgraduate Category.

  • Students from class 11th & 12th can participate in the School Category.

     

FILM ELIGIBILITY
  • Films sent as an entry to the First Frame 2015 – 7th International Students’ Film Festival & Competition must not contain any content that would give the film an adult-rating or be considered pornographic. Entries that contain material of an explicit sexual or violent nature, or anything defamatory or likely to incite racial prejudice, will be rejected.

  • Films that have been shown on television (including cable) or commercial theatrical play in India or abroad prior to the submission will NOT be eligible.

  • The First Frame Team does not assume any responsibility for any violation of intellectual property by any entrant. Entries must be original content recorded by the applicant.

  • Each participant can send a maximum of two films. However separate Registration Forms will be required to be submitted for each film.

  • For School Category, maximum 4 entries per school will be allowed for the competition.

 

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
  • Film in regional and foreign languages other than English should have subtitles in English.

  • Format:- Quick time movie i.e. (.mov) OR (.avi)

  • Resolution:- 1080p widescreen 16:9

  • Audio Channel:- Stereo (L+R)

  • Film must acknowledge their Institution (no individual entry will be entertained)

  • All filmmakers will be notified via email / mobile phones only. Hence please ensure that an accurate email id and mobile number are indicated. Please provide at least 1 alternate email id & telephone number to avoid any delay in correspondence.

  • If your film is selected, you may be asked to provide: Black & White and colour still photos from the film, press material, a trailer for use on festival’s website, posters and flyers.

  • For the Special Category (Voter’s Choice) the film will be uploaded on the YOUTUBE on the festival channel - FIRST FRAME 2015.

  • For the Special Category (Voter’s Choice) the photo story getting maximum number of views will be declared as a winner.

  • The awardees for each category will be announced on the final day of the festival i.e. 17th April 2015, at the time of valedictory function.

 

GOOGLE DRIVE/DROPBOX

 

 

  • Upload your film on Google Drive/Drop Box and share the username and password in the Registration Form.

  • Fill the Registration Form.

  • Take a printout of the filled-in Registration Form and sign it.

  • Take a printout of the ‘Bonafide Student Certificate’. It must be filled and signed by the Director/Principal along with the seal of the Affiliated Institute/ College/ University/ School.

  • Scan the signed copies and email it to us by 15th March 2015 at firstframe2015@gmail.com with the ‘Subject’: Entry for First Frame 2015.

  • Also attach the following documents in your mail.

College details Synopsis of the film (100-150 words) Director’s Biography (100-150 words) along with a photograph Poster and production stills of the film Preview material should be labelled with title, running-time, screening format and contact information (name, email, address and mobile number of applicant).
 

Youtube

 

  • Upload your film on Youtube in .mov or .avi format in the highest resolution. Share the link in the Application Form.

  • Fill the application form.

  • Take a printout of the filled-in application form and sign it.

  • Take a printout of the ‘Bonafide Student Certificate’. It must be filled and signed by the Director/Principal of your institute.

  • Scan the signed copies and email it to us by 15 March 2015 at firstframe2015@gmail.com  with the ‘Subject’: Entry for Film Festival.

  • Also attach the following documents in your mail.

  • College details

  • Synopsis of the film (100-150 words)

  • Director’s biography (100-150 words) along with a photograph

  • Poster and production stills of the film

  • Preview material should be labelled with title, running-time, screening format and contact information (name, email, address and phone number of applicant).

 

Mail/Post

 

  • Burn your film in a DVD in the .mov or .avi format.

  • Fill the application form.

  • Take a printout of the filled-in application form and sign it.

  • Take a printout of the ‘Bonafide Student Certificate’. It must be filled and signed by the Director/Principal of your institute.

  • Send the signed copies along with the DVD to us by 15th March 2015 at

  • The organisers are not responsible for any loss or damage to films in transit. No responsibilities will be accepted for entries lost, delayed or damaged in the post or courier.

 

Note: All the forms that are being mailed have to be coloured scanned copies only and only Stereo format films will be accepted.
