On-the-spot Mobile Film Making

 
ON-THE-SPOT MOBILE FILM MAKING GUIDELINES
 

Rules and Regulations:

 

  • There is no participation fee.

  • Only individual student entry will be allowed. The competition is open only to students of Institutes/ Colleges /Universities/Schools.

  • The theme shall be announced during the Inaugural Function on 16th April 2015.

  • Application form is available online on our website www.mbicemfirstframe.com and Registration Desk at the venue.

  • Form shall be accepted on production of original college/ school ID card by the student and submission of a photocopy of the same with the entry.

  • Film must be accompanied with the filled-in application form for acceptance as an entry in the festival.

  • Entry once submitted cannot be withdrawn.

  • Film need to be submitted at the Registration Desk in a CD/DVD/Pen drive/direct transfer latest by 5 PM on the same day i.e. 16th April 2015.

  • Film will be judged on the following criteria: Concept, Execution, Technical Quality and Innovation.

  • The decision of the jury shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the competition.

  • Keep a copy of the film with yourself.

  • MBICEM reserves the right to accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason.

  • Your submission will be a part of the First Frame library.

  • Clips from your entry may be used for Festival promotional purposes.

  • If it is discovered at any time (before, during or after the event) that any student has made an attempt to win this award by getting the film made by professionals or non-students and subsequently send the entry in the name of student of any institute, then the student and the institute will be blacklisted and debarred from participating in subsequent awards/events for all times to come and such names will be listed on the website of First Frame. The said student or institution may also be liable for legal proceedings for deliberate mis-representation of facts and cheating.

 

Common Guidelines for Films:

  • Your film must be shot on a mobile phone with at least 720p resolution video recording.

  • Maximum duration of film shall be 2 minutes.

  • Time allotted for shooting, editing and submission of the film shall be 5 hours. (12 Noon to 5 PM on 16th April 2015).

  • If the student wishes to include background music or do editing, they must carry their own mobile phones, laptop with the preferred editing software.  MBICEM or First Frame will not provide any equipment for the purpose.

  • Use of Music - If you use a piece of music and/or sound recording which is not your own, do mention the source and/or credit to the owner. If you are restrained by the publisher and/or record company to use it, then don’t use it. This applies for background music as well.

  • Clear all Rights - By submitting your film in this competition, you are certifying that it is your own original work and anyone who appears in it or whose work you have used in it are fully credited and have agreed to being filmed in the first place. MBICEM is not liable for any legal action in case of copyright infringement of any film.

  • Keep it Clean - MBICEM reserves the right to reject any material that is considered defamatory, obscene or unlawful.

  • Credits – Do mention opening and closing credits in your film.

 

Awards and Declaration of Results:

  • All the films received for the competition shall be shortlisted by a preview committee.

  • Shortlisted films shall be screened on Day 2 at 9:30 AM onwards and will be judged by the jury members.

  • The results shall be declared during the Valedictory Function on Day 2 of the event i.e. 17th April 2015.

  • The awards for the competition include:

College (Under-Graduate/Post-Graduate) Category

Registration Form

Please download the registration form and bring a filled in registration form along with a scanned copy of college or school I-card to submit on the registration desk on 16th April 2015.
